URBI 1.0 RC1 is out! It comes with the new URBI-SDK package which integrates liburbi and UObject. You can now use the 'umake' utility to create remote or plugged UObjects in Aibo.

More on the 1.0 RC1 release page:

Hello JCB,

just downloaded the RC1 (sorry for being late!).

I copied it to my ERS7 and had the same problem as before. (See http://forum.gostai.com/viewtopic.php?p=585#585)
After I replaced the file WLANDRVM.BIN onto the PMS with my file it worked.
I still think it has something to do with the different releases of the ERS7's. The ERS that were delivered with Mind3 have another WLAN (I do not know if it is hardware or only the driver). Please can you check that if the ERS7-M3 file is backward compatible or not? Sorry I have no M2 nor M1 to test it. If you need, I can send you the file (WLANDRVM.BIN) via eMail.

If it is backward compatible, I suggest to replace the file in the distributed URBI archive.

It's me again,

The URBI 1.0RC1 has some new script files inside. I would like to know what they are about and how to get them properly running.

(1) aiboremote.u
What does it? It looks like a part of a internet remote control for AIBO...
If I go to the URL that can be seen in the script (http://etud.epita.fr/~ahiekp_a/) I see the buttons, some PDF-files that I can not read (because its french) or I have no access to it.

(2) urbiweb.u
this looks like generator for a HTML page. Is it something similar to the Webpage on Mind3, which can be accessed from the browser?
A simple load("urbiweb.u"), and a look in my browser did not brought any page up.

I know you guys are bussy, but a little better documentation would be fine.

Hi.
Am I right, that Ihave to copy the content of the "urbi_SDK" to
"/usr/local/"??

What do I have to do to install this to "/vol/aiboint/1.0_RC"?
Cause there is no possibility to use "/usr/local/" and when I use "umake" it can't find the code which is needed.

Thank you for helping

In order to install URBI SDK, you need to enter the "urbisdk-1.0RC1(...)/usr/local" directory. Then copy the "uinstall" file of the "bin" directory into the current directory by typing "cp bin/uinstall .". Then, launch install with : "sudo ./uinstall".

If you have not root privileges, I am afraid that you cannot install URBI SDK :(
